Sacrum Suction at the Sacroexpo 2023! Over 50 works go for auction - see the contemporary faces of religious art

Can angels help with a Gothic altar construction? What beast would St. George in the 21st century? Does the Last Supper go with with Manhattan's modernist architecture? The answer to all these questions can be found in the catalogue of the Sacrum Auction- a part of this year's Sacroexpo on 20 June 2023 at 5 pm in the Targi Kielce hall. Bidding is possible in person, by phone, online amd through a limit order

The purpose of the Sacrum Auction organised for the first time in Targi Kielce, is to show the contemporary face of religious art.  The offer opens with "The Last Supper" by Robert Jadczak; the artist sets the scene in a modernist tenement house with a view of New York. The next item in the catalogue - Joanna Mieszko's work referring to the apocalyptic Heavenly Jerusalem;  Katarzyna Słowiańska-Kuch refers to the Flemish painting style and presents the process of a medieval altar construction. Michał Motłoch in his proprietary take on the Annunciation and Malwina de Brade in a scene featuring St. Hubert, directly drawn from Gothic miniatures. 

A separate group of works in the auction - modern icons, created at international plein air painting workshops organised by the Association of Friends of Nowicy. Artists lists includes Borys Shermeta, Bogdana Kuzerovska and Małgorzata Szewczuk. The work refers to current events in the East - a fascinating icon by Boris Fiodorowicz, depicting St. George fighting a tank. A journey towards abstraction is offered in the following works: a neon composition by Izabela Kozłowska, a symbolic depicting of Light by Klaudia Krzosek, "The Mountain of Transfiguration" by Aleksander Grzybek and a cubist portrait by Eugeniusz Gerlach. Pop-art and comics depictions of Madonna and saints will be presented by Roma Jaruszewska, Beata Szustkiewicz and Battler. There is also a real treat for collectors - Salvador Dali's lithographs from the Biblia Sacra collection with the artist's handwritten signature and Jerzy Nowosielski's incographs from the limited collector's portfolios "Bogurodzica" and "Mandylion". Also items for lovers of three-dimensional forms; a golden sculpture of the Madonna by Jacek Opała, a crucifix by the excellent Jean Lambert-Rucki and a sculpture of a saint made of steel by Wit Bogusławski are also available.

On the second day of Sacroexpo, 20 June, some of the presented works were available for auction at a live art auction room managed by the Art. Auction House. In House. The most popular auctioned works were: Saint George Fighting the Dragon" by Borys Fiodorowicz, "The Meeting of Heaven and Earth" by Katarzyna Słowiańska-Kucz and "The Last Supper" by Robert Jadczak. Representatives of Innpact - a company specializing in energy consulting and TUW Polish Mutual Insurance Company delivered lectures during the Sacroexpo; the session was targeted at administrators of religious buildings. The meeting was a part of the Meeting of Male and Female Consulta to the Conference of Polish Church Economy Officers and Monastery Superiors in Poland and events organized by the Forum of Inter-Religious Cooperation

SACROEXPO Slovakia - the formal presentation!
Guests from Incheba-Expo Bratislava showed the potential of the religion-related market of Slovak, Czech, Austrian and Hungarian. The presentation of the September SACROEXPO Slovakia was the occasion. The event is held on 13-14 September in Bratislava and is organised by the Slovak exhibition centre and Targi Kielce.

The first day of the 24th Sacroexpo hosted a featured guest - Fr. Witold Burda PhD., postulator in the beatification process of the Ulma family. The whole family were shot dead by the Germans for helping and hiding Jews.
