Poland's Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz makes a tour over exhibition on the first day of MSPO 2016

The National Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz, at the press briefing held on the first day of the International Defence Industry Exhibition announced that Poland has the inquiry the US government - the request for quotation regards the purchase of eight Patriot air defense sets. The first set would be delivered to Poland as early as 2019
Right after the briefing's end journalists were invited by Raytheon - the company that produces the defence systems.
- Polish decision to make a formal inquiry concerning PATRIOT missile sets is a important milestone on Poland way to become the sixth NATO country to use these sets - Mike Nachschen, the company's spokesman presented Raytheon's official position. Raytheon will continue its support the US and Polish governments.
Patriot - long range, anti-aircraft missile defence sets are operational regardless the weather. Patriots are used to combat aircraft and tactical ballistic missiles. Patriots are on display at the defense industry expo in Targi Kielce until 9 September.
