A wide range of devices, solutions and types allows to protect any type of PV installation ranging from single strings with 10x38 cylindrical inserts through dedicated detachable bases used in extensive ground farms; the latter requires several security levels because of the installation size.  Fuse-links offer selectivity of protections on the DC and AC side. Surge arresters offer energy coordination and effectiveness in PV installations' main elements, such as inverter, PV modules, supervision and monitoring systems, etc.

In 2000, CITEL patented a unique technology for the construction of surge arresters, the so-called VG technology, which has been used in many versions, especially in combined T1 + T2 + T3 types for AC networks and T1 + T2 for DC networks. Now these schemes are regarded one of the best surge arresters available on the Polish market. The company offers a 10-year warranty.
