EDURA EXPO APPEALS!!!
An increase in the number of grass and wasteland fires across the country has been recorded since mid-March, inform the fire-services. In Świętokrzyskie regions, waste-land fires started already at the beginning of February. As it was getting warmer, fire-brigades had to intervene a number times a day. According to the Nature Conservation Act, grass burning is a subject to a financial penalty, detention or a disciplinary action in the form of reprimand. Grass burning can ignite near-by buildings or trees and cause significant losses. For causing such danger, the Criminal Code stipulates imprisonment, with the detention period from one to 10 years. Farmers are also a subject to penalties administered by the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture This may be a reduction of 5 to 25%, or in more extreme cases 100% reduction in all types of direct payments for the year.
