Drewex fights the coronavirus pandemic caused crisis.

21 april 2020
Trade, part of transport sector, tourism and entertainment on hold - thishas been a blow to the Polish economy. The lock-down caused by the coronavirus pandemic exerts strong pressure on entrepreneurs who have to face the stark decisions regarding the company's further activities, many enterprises are pushed to close or suspend business operations.

Others - such as Drewex, a producer of children's furniture have resolved to fight for survival.
- We bought Drewex when it was facing problems,  which let it be reborn again, like a phoenix from the ashes. The process of building the company’s strength was about to end.  Suddenly the crisis came. We are battle hardened warriors - we might have invested in better ways at better times. We have had the desire and passion to do the difficult and hard work. Now we won't give up -

the company's priority is to maintain the headcount at this difficult time. There are hardly any sales, yet we continue to manufacture furniture to be kept in the company’s warehouse(...) We have limited the production process to the minimum. Thus every employee can earn at least half of the salary, so that they can survive this difficult period.

Our sales re-bounced a bit, although very slowly. However the mentality of our customers is beginning to change,  they are also beginning to understand our message. We cannot stop and we must act.

Before the epidemics, our goods were collected every day, at the moment once every few days. The good news is that we didn't ship the goods last week at all.  Speaking about financial issues. So far we have not received money from customers, but the situation has started to change.  Over the past two weeks, we've talked to our customers. We have  tried to convince them. We were the ambassador of people to people - it was our desire not to stop production. We did not want them to give up.

Every crisis verifies the company’s and people’s atitudes,  if a company is closed and we can't talk to the people there, we try calling another company. This is the verification time - we see which companies keep working - if the supplier has not delivered the goods, we start prospering for those who are ready to deliver. I want to keep working - says Piotr Rynia President and co-owner of the Drewex company.

The main reason for financial flow back-log is the fact that consumers have stopped spending money.  Keeping purchases at a similar level would secure production for companies. As the consequence, this would allow people in our country keep their jobs. An online store can be a lifebuoy for the industry.

- Customers shifted to online shopping.  We have not generated a loss, but even an increase in internet sales. This will be definitely a long-term situation which lasts for several months. Some customers have not bought online before because they were afraid, unable to buy on line or they just did not trust this sale channel.  Now they are forced to go on line - they have started to embrace the new situation.  A large number of customers will stay online and will continue shopping online only - said Tomasz Perzyna, Vice President and co-owner of Drewex.

The entire the company's owners’ communication can be viewed in the  "For help". TV show.
