A variety of sounds at the finale of the 21st Targi Kielce Jazz Festival Memorial to Miles - Marek Pospieszalski Oktet

 The band offered their last two albums to the audience on Sunday evening at the Kielce Cultur Centre. Teh album is dedicated to Polish composers of the 20th century. This concert concluded the four-day event co-organized by Targi Kielce.

For many, Marek Pospieszalski's Octet is the most important project in Polish jazz in recent years.  The Octet features the plethora of Polish jazz and independent musicians of the 80/90 generation. Their work was praised by the national media (including Newsweek, Jazz Forum, Ruch Muzyczny, Polifonia) and foreign media (including New York City Jazz Record, Bandcamp Daily, Jazz.Pt, Salt Penauts, The Whole Note , Jazz'nMore, Le Soir).

The Targi Kielce Jazz Festival, Memorial to Miles, welcomes Marek Pospieszalski - saxophones, clarinets, flute, reel-to-reel tape recorder, Piotr Chęcki - tenor saxophone, Tomasz Dąbrowski - trumpet, Tomasz Sroczyński - viola, Szymon Mika - guitars, Grzegorz Tarwid - piano, Max Mucha - double bass, Qba Janicki - drums, soundboard.

 

The concert of such a large band closed the 21st Jazz Festival, complementing the palette of diversity of forms and sounds.
