A loan agreement for the construction of a new hall at Targi Kielce
– The signing of this agreement concludes a long and demanding negotiation process; I would like to thank Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego for its trust and perfect financing conditions. The new expo hall is an investment that has long been needed and essential for the further development of Targi Kielce – emphasised Andrzej Mochoń, President of the Management Board of Targi Kielce.
The decision to build a new expo hall was made in 2018, and the investment was initially scheduled to begin in 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic caused its temporary suspension, but – as the centre's authorities point out – it allowed the project to be refined and adapted to the current and future needs of the exhibition market. The new facility is being built on an updated concept that reflects the experience of recent years and the growing demands of exhibitors.
– The signing of this agreement is a critical moment both for Targi Kielce and for the entire city; the new exhibition hall is a strategic investment that strengthens Kielce's position as an intense economic and exhibition centre on a national and international scale. This is a project that has a tangible impact on the development of the city, region and local business – emphasised Agata Wojda, Mayor of Kielce.
The new expo hall, with an area of approximately 15,500 m², will significantly increase the exhibition potential of Targi Kielce. Not only the International Defence Industry Exhibition, but also the Agrotech Agricultural Technology Fair, which takes place as part of the Industrial Spring, are the main events to benefit from the expansion, as are other key events that have so far struggled with space limitations. The additional space will enable more efficient organisation of trade fairs, shorten logistical and technical breaks between events, and further increase the number and scale of international events.
– Targi Kielce is one of the most important economic drivers of the Świętokrzyskie region; not only jobs in the centre itself, but the Centre offers an impetus for supporting industries such as hotel, catering and services. Financing this investment fits perfectly with the mission of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego as a development bank, helping local governments and strategic infrastructure projects – said Piotr Waluszewski, Director of the Świętokrzyskie Region of BGK.
According to the schedule, the new expo hall is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2026 to host the first event of the season: MSPO – International Defence Industry Exhibition. The investment is another step in strengthening the position of Targi Kielce as one of the leading exhibition centres in Poland and this part of Europe.
