06 april 2022
Over 30 companies, institutions and universities have signed a cooperation agreement within the scope of the Metrology Cluster, this unit unites business entities and scientific institutions. The signing ceremony was a part of the STOM expo, a part of the “Targi Kielce's Industrial Spring”.

- Industry operates in open and globalised economy, which creates opportunities and makes the environment competitive. The global world supports the best. We integrate in order to join the leaders, be amongst the best of the best. Metrology plays a vital role in this respect - said Jacek Semaniak

- The construction of the Central Office of Measures in Kielce will therefore benefit not only the industries that use specialised measurements, the city and the Kielce University of Technology, but it will also aid Targi Kielce. STOM expo has been a meeting place for metrologists for twenty-four years. The construction of COM and the cooperation scope is very extensive. I think that this situation will produce benefits - said Andrzej Mochoń, President of the Board of Targi Kielce

As part of the first stage of GUM construction, six laboratories are built: acoustics and vibrations, time and frequency, together with a length, mass, thermometry and interdisciplinary metrology laboratory. The campus research activity is to begin in early 2024; this facility is to be one of the most modern of this type in the world.

The signing ceremony took place on the congress "Metrology - a chance and a challenge for the future", organised jointly by the Central Office of Measures, Kielce University of Technology and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. The meeting was attended by representatives of government administration, entrepreneurs and the scientific milieus. The congress’ topics related to new solutions for companies and institutions which use metrological data. Development directions for metrology in specialised industries of the future were also discussed.
