Description
The core of Scanway’s portfolio consists of flight-proven SOP (Scanway Optical Payload) telescopes and SCS (Scanway Camera System) vision systems. SOP instruments enable high-resolution observation in RGB, VIS, NIR and SWIR bands, as well as multispectral imaging, making them suitable for dual-use satellites, reconnaissance systems and UAV platforms. SCS systems support Space Situational Awareness applications, monitoring of objects in orbit, docking operations, in-space servicing and the detection of anomalies in orbital infrastructure.
The software layer of the portfolio is further developed through HYDRA, Scanway’s proprietary vision data processing and analysis system based on AI and machine learning algorithms. The system can process 2D, 3D, multispectral, hyperspectral and thermal imaging data, and perform functions including automatic object detection, segmentation, identification and classification. In defence and dual-use applications, it enables the development of autonomous reconnaissance capabilities and onboard data processing, reducing the need to transmit complete raw datasets to the ground segment.
One of the key projects demonstrating Scanway’s capabilities in the defence sector is PIAST (Polish ImAging SaTellites), Poland’s first dual-use Earth observation nanosatellite constellation developed for the Polish Armed Forces and public administration. Scanway delivered optical instruments for the PIAST-S1 and PIAST-S2 satellites, a camera for PIAST-M, and the image acquisition system for the entire constellation.
