DEW Engineering & Development is a Canadian defence engineering and manufacturing company with an expanding European industrial presence, specializing in advanced vehicle armour, integrated survivability and military systems engineering.
For more than 30 years, DEW has designed, engineered, manufactured and integrated armour solutions for wheeled and tracked military vehicles. Our systems have protected thousands of vehicles in operational service worldwide, including the U.S. Stryker family and Canadian armoured vehicle fleets.

DEW works directly with vehicle OEMs, defence primes and armed forces from initial threat and platform analysis through design, prototyping, ballistic testing, qualification, serial manufacturing, vehicle integration and through-life support. Solutions can be developed for new platforms or supplied as modular upgrade packages for existing fleets.
For the European market, DEW's focus is clear: engineer and manufacture advanced survivability solutions in Europe, for Europe. We are actively developing partnerships with European vehicle manufacturers and defence organizations to support local production, industrial participation and long-term sovereign supply requirements.

Ceramic Composite Vehicle Armour
Ceramic Composite Vehicle Armour
Composite vehicle armour combines advanced materials such as technical ceramics, aramid fibres and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) to provide high levels of ballistic protection at significantly lower weight than traditional steel armour. Ceramic strike faces disrupt and defeat incoming projectiles, while composite backing materials absorb and distribute the remaining impact energy and control fragmentation. Composite armour can be engineered as integrated or modular add-on protection, allowing protection levels to be tailored to specific vehicles, threats and missions while preserving mobility, payload and operational performance.
DEW Engineering develops vehicle armour solutions providing scalable ballistic protection from STANAG 4569 Level 1 through Level 6, depending on platform and operational requirements. Armour systems combine materials such as armour steel, advanced ceramics, aramid and UHMWPE composites to achieve the optimum balance of protection, weight, thickness, cost and multi-hit performance. Each solution is developed with the customer around the specific vehicle, threat profile, available weight and integration requirements, from lightweight modular add-on armour to fully integrated protection systems.
