AGILITY® CMMs are equipped with REVO® 5-axis measurement technology. They offer speed, accuracy, and flexibility for both shop floor and laboratory measurements. This is all thanks to high-quality products and innovative Renishaw technology. The machine's design allows for all the benefits of the multi-sensor REVO 5-axis measurement system:
- Cycle time savings of 15% to 50% in seconds compared to 3-axis measurement systems.
- Integrated dimensional inspection and surface finish measurement.
- Unlimited positioning capabilities for access to geometric features.
Currently, two Agility machine lines are available:
AGILITY S - for shop floor inspection.
AGILITY L - for laboratory inspection.
The company's AGILITY S coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) offer an accurate and robust solution for inspecting manufactured parts on the shop floor where clean air and temperature control cannot be guaranteed. They are available with workspaces ranging from 700 x 900 x 600 mm to 1600 x 2400 x 1200 mm (X x Y x Z), as well as variants with a raised workspace, allowing the use of pallet loading systems or rotary tables. All shop floor models feature raised Y-axis guides for added stability and protection from airborne contaminants. The larger S-version frames are equipped with dual drive and dual Y-axis scales.
Designed for metrology laboratories, the AGILITY L machines are designed for operating temperatures ranging from 18°C to 22°C and perform high-speed 5-axis multisensor measurements in dust-free environments. The single-sided raised Y-axis design with boom increases accessibility for manual part loading when process automation is not required. AGILITY L machine frames are available with work envelopes ranging from 500 x 500 x 500 mm to 1600 x 3500 x 1200 mm (X x Y x Z).

The new dual-metod measurement system Equator-X™ 500 is ideal for the production floor thanks to its two measurement functions – absolute and comparative. Users can choose the optimal inspection mode for a given process, effectively utilizing the capabilities of both systems.
In absolute mode, it is a high-speed production CMM, providing fully traceable inspection results (according to ISO 10360-2 = 2.1 μm + L/300).
Fast measurement with a scanning speed of up to 250 mm/s, without the need to maintain master parts, is particularly useful for manufacturers with:
In comparative mode, it enables very fast inspection with a scanning speed of up to 500 mm/s and high repeatability of ±2 μm over a wide temperature range. This is particularly useful for high-volume production, where throughput is crucial.
The Equator-X™ gauging system provides a fully traceable part inspection process in accordance with ISO 10360 standards.

What is an encoder?
The electronics and optical components of this type are enclosed in a sealed housing that is attached to the head body. The sealed optical system and encoder scale are also protected within a sealed housing. This design prevents the ingress of liquids and solid contaminants. The FORTiS encoder housing incorporates proven Renishaw absolute encoder technology. This provides excellent measurement performance in harsh environments and significant advantages over traditional systems.
Renishaw currently offers two types of encoder enclosures in the FORTIS series:
- FORTiS-S™ with a standard size
- FORTiS-N™ with a narrow cross-section
