REHMED-PLUS - for the next two days in Targi Kielce

Conferences galore, medical screening sessions and the Integration Run which has become an indispensable part of the Expo - these are just a few examples of attractions which will enhance the Targi Kielce's 4th REHMED-PLUS Expo held on 23 and 24 April.

The 4th Fair of Rehabilitation, Therapy & Care  REHMED-PLUS is to be held on 23 and 24 April 2015; the Expo is the showcase for equipment and products used for rehabilitation and treatment. This is the place to become familiar with manufacturers' and distributors' offers. A broadly defined rehabilitation of people with disabilities is this year's leitmotif. Not only in the conference will the specialists discuss about how to help and assist the disadvantaged. A large number of representatives of organizations and institutions which support people with disabilities will also be attending the event.

For a number of years, the REHMED-PLUS' programme has included conferences which have brought together over 800 experts from all across Poland. This year's "Let us help to live better a life" conference is mainly focused on the sports for rehabilitation of people with disabilities.

This year marks the ninth edition of the conference. The session takes place on April 24 - 300 participants have already registered.

The program has been arranged to include most topical issues for many medical specialities, and among them contemporary physiotherapy and rehabilitation with particular emphasis on musculoskeletal disorders.  This year's meeting has been divided into the two sessions scientific "Sport as an effective and comprehensive disability rehabilitation form" and "Feet diagnosis and treatment". Based on many-year experience, this year's conference has been designed as the experience-exchange event which encompasses a whole array of perspectives. The event is targeted at doctors and physio-therapists, medical students and all those who are into clinical and scientific achievements of modern medicine. Organizers of the conference are Jan Kochanowski University (Faculty of MEdical Sciences), Targi Kielce, Polish Society of Physiotherapy, Polish Association of Physiotherapy Professionals and the Federation of Sport and Rehabilitation"START" in Kielce, This year 15 experts from different medical areas will deliver lectures - among the speakers are medical-science professors, MDs, physiotherapists, sports people.

This year's edition's programme has also included the conference targeted at nurses, "Therapy and Skin Diseases in Long-Term Care" is the session's main focus. More than 150 participants are brought together at the event - these are representatives of the managerial staff of care facilities, nursing homes, geriatric and oncology hospital wards . The conference is held on 24 April. The session organizers have designed the following topics to be discussed: "Cardiac arrhythmias in women - the nature and the scale of the problem" (Full Professor, Marianna Janion PhD Hab. MD, Head of Swietokrzyski Cardiology CENTRE, the provincial consultant in cardiology), "Behavioural disorders in dementia. The role of the nurse " (Alicja Klich Rączka PhD MD, the provincial consultant for geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine and Gerontology of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow).

REHMED provides also the possibility of a whole number of medical examinations available free of charge. This year's offer:

 

  • computerized foot-defects test
  • computer gait-test and balance disorders examinations
  • balance-reeducation training with the use of the training platform
  • anthropometry and body composition test (body fat gauging with the use of electrical bioimpedance)
  • nutrition counselling
  • mammography and cervical PAP counselling
  • antitumor prevention counselling - breast self-examination instructions with the use of on phantoms

 

There integration run has become the Expo's tradition; every year the event which is organised by Federation of Sport and Rehabilitation START brings together an astounding number of contestants; i.e. as many as 300. In addition to the run for the disabled, there will also be boccia tournament.
