The Roof Forum zone of demonstrations and crafts is a true inspiration and education arena
In the Demonstration and Craft Zone, visitors have the opportunity to see how roofing materials can be used in practice. – It’s a great place to get inspired, see new things, and test products - whenever I visit the Kielce expo, I always come back with an abundance ideas for the entire season. - said Konrad Szymborski from the National Guild of Roofers, Tinsmiths and Carpenters.
"We don't sell products - we sell knowledge."
The Roof Forum is a large roofing workshop – at stands located in expo halls 3 and 4, visitors can learn about new processing techniques, get to know new products or improve their skills.
- It's Portuguese slate, a very durable material that can last up to 500 years - says Piotr Urban, a roofing contractor. – At the Carpentry Academy expo stand we show different laying styles, such as Old German style or rectangular layout. We want to prove that this material is not only durable, but also easy to process, he adds.
The zone allows participants not only to observe the work of experts, but also to test their skills themselves. - This is not a typical expo stand. We do not sell products – we sell knowledge – emphasises Marcin Szczotka, who also shows how to make a roof truss at the Carpentry Academy stand – It is more of a craft academy where everyone can test materials and gain knowledge.
Cutting-edge technologies and tradition
The Show and Craft Zone is also a space for modern technologies - Marcin Tyszka, manager of the Dekarze.pl store, presents construction elevators of various capacities, as well as tools for processing sheet metal. - He adds that we show bending machines, trimmers, and other devices that make work on the roof easier.
There is also an abundance of attractions for enthusiasts of decorative roof details. Łukasz Szalkowski from AG Dachy shows how to create patterns on sheet metal. - You can make anything that comes to your mind – hearts, eyes, or other decorations – she says. Patterns can then be used on roofs to give them a unique character.
Knowledge for professionals and amateurs
Blachy-Pruszyński Academy is also a place where you can gain knowledge - We show how to properly perform cornice processing, roll seams and care for the tightness of roofs - explains Jan Olizarowicz from Blachy Pruszyński. The zone also offers many competitions for participants, where precision and speed of completing tasks count. -It's an opportunity to test your skills and raise your prestige in the industry - he adds.
For those looking for practical knowledge in roof insulation, Sławomir Ćwiek from Bauder shows how to weld roof membranes, install vapour barriers and thermal insulation. - Everyone can test these techniques and see how they work in practice - he emphasises.
There were also demonstrations of tracing and detail cutting techniques. Tomasz Maciejewski from the Gerbank School presents methods of creating domes, processing chimneys on the Ashfold template and building bird feeders from small elements. This is all part of promoting our school, we show how to work with different techniques – he adds.
The Demonstrations and Crafts Zone at Roof Forum 2025 is a real treat for anyone who wants to explore the secrets of roof construction. Both professionals and amateurs will find inspiration, practical tips and the opportunity to test tools and materials themselves as this place combines knowledge with experience, building a bridge between theory and practice. The Roof Forum 2025 is proof that traditional craftsmanship combined with modern technologies has a bright future ahead of it.
