The conclusions related to further assistance for refugees arriving in Kielce

05 April 2022
A detailed, long-term action plan complemented with the scheme designed to reconcile aid to refugees with the daily activities of institutions and companies - were discussed during today's meeting of the Business Council at the Mayor of Kielce.

Mayor of the city, Mr Bogdan Wenta, met representatives of municipal institutions and companies in order to establish a further action plan whose objective is to help refugees from Ukraine arriving in Kielce. The extraordinary meeting was held at the Targi Kielce Congress Centre.

- Helping refugees from Ukraine is one of the city's priorities. Taking into account the current economic situation, this is also the priority for firms which run their business in our city. Municipal companies’ role is to create an effective and transparent action plan. We agree that the situation will not change quickly, thus the plan must be a long-term one. All possible scenarios should be developed - stated the president of Targi Kielce and a member of the Business Council, Andrzej Mochoń.

Mayor Bogdan Wenta said, inter alia, that it is important to provide refugees with full assistance, e.g. in medical facilities. This, however, should not happen come at the expense of the inhabitants of Kielce. - Helping refugees from Ukraine comes without saying,  however, it is important that to avoid a situation when a mother of an ill child living in Kielce does not feel left out, does not feel her problems are ignored. THis is a very difficult task, but today's meeting made it possible for us to discuss the matters and many other issues. This comes handy in creating a good action plan - said the mayor.

The meeting also discussed current material support provided to Winnica - the partner city of Kielce.  In addition to the city authorities, the members of the BCC Świętokrzyskie Lodge also attended the meeting.
