The centre opens with pomp

02 august 2013
The Targi Kielce’s Congress Centre – the largest facility in this part of Poland will become operational on 28th August

Not only will the new Congress Centre be the venue for conferences, but also for concerts

The gala opening ceremony will gain extra splendour owing to a performance of the Wroclaw Pantomime Theatre; the world-famous theatre company will put on stage the two shows – “The House of Bernarda Alba” inspired by Federico García Lorca’s texts and “The Paper Hunters” based on Franz Kafka’s The Castle. The latter has been complemented with Wojciech Kilar’s music soundtracks of “The Summersault” and “The Crown Pearl” – says Andrzej Mochoń, Targi Kielce President of Board.

The Congress Centre construction is greatest investment in Targi Kielce’s history; the costs of the new facility account for over 70 million PLN. The new venue is both innovative and multi-functional -. The building, owing to its creative construction based upon the idea of modular halls can be used as the venue for large-scale events such as congresses, concerts or conferences as well as for smaller seminars and cosy and homely atmosphere exhibitions and vernisages. The largest hall can seat 700 guests; and in this hall there is the stage equipped with concert sound system and suspension frame for camera cranes and most refine stage-design elements. The four smaller rooms of 100 seat capacity each also offer bespoke space design. In addition to the above the Congress Centre will comprise a spacious and superbly equipped Press Centre, a comfortable VIP Zone and dressing rooms for artists. – adds Mr Mochoń

With the aid of the European Union support, the Targi Kielce infrastructure has been expanded to include, inter alia, the west-side entry terminal, and the E and F exhibition halls. The outdoor area around the exhibition pavilions is being modernised at the moment. The multi-storey car park with extra storage space has been constructed on the west side of the lot. The 170 million PLN expansion and modernisation will be completed with the west-side entry terminal. The investment has been designed not only to provide top-quality services for the centre’s clients but also to allow for collision-free and safe access off the Łódź – Warsaw – Krakow ring road straight to the exhibition grounds. The European Union contribution accounts for over 70 million PLN, which puts this investment on the top of the list of the largest projects realised within the scope of the RPW scheme.
