Targi Kielce supports the 12th National Special Olympics Summer Games 2022

The 12th Polish Special Olympics Summer Games 2022 are held in Kielce, with about 400 competitors from all over the country taking part. The event is supported by Targi Kielce. The games qualify for the World Games, which will be held in Berlin in 2023.

On Monday, 4 July, the 12th Final of the Special Olympics National Summer Games began with a ceremonial parade. Players from each voivodeship presented themselves in Kielce,  the flag was also displayed. The relay running with the Fire of Hope lit the Olympic Torch.

- We, a socially responsible company, support various initiatives and events, including special Olympics - says the president of Targi Kielce, Andrzej Mochoń. - We wish the athletes strength and persistence in their struggles. May they enjoy well-deserved successes. Sport is not only about well-being, it develops fortitude, strengthens character and gives great joy.

The games at the Kielce University of Technology stadium and in the sports and rehabilitation hall in Suchedniów will last until 7 July. There are competitions in many disciplines - from basketball to track and field. The finals give competitors a chance to enter the Polish Special Olympics Team for the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2023 in Berlin.

Special Olympics are one of the three pillars of the Olympic movement in the world - next to the Olympic Games and the Paralympics, dedicated to people with intellectual disabilities. Over 5.3 million athletes representing 32 sports disciplines from over 170 countries are associated at the Special Olympics, which are officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee.
