The Swietokrzyskie Viovode Bożentyna Pałka-Koruba and the Deputy Voivode Grzegorz Dziubek presented the winners of the eighth edition of the Swietokrzyskie Voivode's awards "The Swietokrzyskie Laurels". The accolades werre presented in the following categories: Man of the Year, Corporate Responsibility Enterprise, the Leader of Tolerance, Digital Commune and Fair Play.

The Lady Voivode also decided to bestow a Special Laurel, this was presented to the world-acclaimed graphic artist Rafal Olbinski. In the course of the event Bogdan Wenta - a handball coach was presented a gold "Contribution to Sport" by the Lady Viovode; the bronze badge was presented to Jerzy Zieba, a lawyer and a promoter of physical culture.

The Gala was held at the Congress Hall which has the seating capacity of almost 1,000 people; the evening gained extra splendour owing to Anita Lipnicka and John Porter live in concert.

Following the previous editions' practice the Swietokrzyskie Laurels have been designed to acclaim businesses, municipalities, and the people who work for benefit of others and make a significant contribution to the region's development and promotion as well as enhance a positive image Swietokrzyskie Area in Poland and Europe. The Swietokrzyskie Voivode was assisted in the assessment and laureate nomination procedure by the Honorary Committee and the appointed team of experts.
