EDUKACJA expo features an open debate

Polska Izba Książki (PIK - Polish Book Chamber) is the organisation which represents publishing houses. PIK welcomes you to join the discussion panel "Is the end of educational publications?"; the session will bring together publishers and teachers as well as people who care about Polish eaducation's quality.

EDUKACJA expo is a perfect place to open up a discussion on school books' shape and future. The fact that the event is attended by over a hundred exhibitors, including the leading pedagogical publishing houses and educational institutions, is a great opportunity to exchange views and discuss the business sector's most topical problems.

The changes proposed by Ministry of Education regarding the changes of text-books admission to the schooling system have stirred controversies. Provision of charge-free school-books would provide a great support for parents and large-number families in particular. Such solutions have been accepted in most European Union's member-states. This has also been a long-standing postulate in Poland. However the mode of introduction concept and the Ministry of Education in the capacity of the publisher have generated a wave of criticism.

What will be the role of the existing educational and pedagogical publishing houses? Is the Ministry ready for concessions? Are the teachers ready to work with the new text-book?The s the end of educational publications?" discussion panel will be an attempt to find answers to these questions. The session is held on Thursday, 27th March at 1.30 p.m. in the F Hall's Conference hall.
