The editorial office of “Polskie Drogi” (Polish Roads) monthly and Targi Kielce in conjunction with the Documentary Association “Droga” (The Way) invite for the exhibition whose leitmotif is a road.

The pictures had beet taken from the late 50’s of the previous century until the first decade of this century; they present road situation captured by the watchful eye of documentary photographers. The themes range from children who play on a highway with a proud “little Fiat” heading forth, through labourers who are making stone-surface, a cart which is pulled by cows to the People’s Republic of Poland pride gala opening of the “gierkówka” motorway.

Roads are built for people. Alongside with the change in road construction technologies there is a change in people and the surrounding they live in. This is what we want to present in the pictures; especially when we remember that roads are supposed to be the change initiator for social and economic life.

The photos will be presented all through the road construction exhibition, from 8th to 11th May in the D hall.
