22 may 2024
Plastpol International Fair of Plastics and Rubber Processing Expo is the Central and Eastern Europe’s most prominent event for plastics processing industry. The development directions for this industry, its vision, the plastics place on the old continent by 2050 is are important discussion element . These issues are presented in the "The Plastics Transition" road map exhibited at this year's expo

- This is a vision that we hope to achieve in the plastics system by 2050 in cooperation with the entire value chain and with decision-makers' support - says Doctor Engineer  Anna Kozera-Szałkowska, Managing Director of Plastics Europe Polska.

The map predicts that by 2050, 65%, i.e. 42 million tonnes, of all plastics used by processors will be produced from circular raw materials. 43% will come from recycling (including 24% from mechanical recycling and 19% from chemical recycling). Biomass plastics will double market share every decade, reaching a share of 18%. At the same time, the plan assumes that the estimated reduction in greenhouse gas emissions as a result of switching to circular raw materials and avoiding incineration will reacj 55% (129 million tons of CO2) by 2050, and achieving the goals set in The Plastics Transition will require EUR 235 billion of additional system expenditure (CAPEX). +OPEX).

The 28th PLASTPOL attracts crowds of visitors who will learn about the offers of 603 exhibitors from 31 countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The event takes place in seven expo halls.
