– I am delighted that I managed to complete the first round with a high-score victory – points out Szewczyk, who won the 10-ball world championship last year. When asked if this in any way gives him a handicap in this tournament, he replies: – On the one hand, there are those expectations that I try to reject, they are of no use to me. On the other hand, it's nice to remember that not so long ago I played in an equally large arena and was victorious. We call it “experience” and that's what I have at hand.

Late in the evening Wojciech Szewczyk, playing for the Bilardo.pl Dekada Sosnowiec team, played the second match at this tournament, facing the British, Imran Majid. After a fierce battle, the Polish representative lost 8:9.  

Representing the Nosan Kielce  Sebastian Batkowski played the next match.  In the first match, he won with Mario He 9: 7 despite the latter was the match favourite. In the second match Mustafa Alnar came shor of his rival and had to accept the 4:9 defeat. - I have my self esteeem, but I also know my place in the ranks. I don't feel like a contender for medals, but if I find my best game technique and have a bit of luck, I can advance. If score top 16, I will be really happy – emphasizes Batkowski. 

Mateusz Śniegocki Solumed Poznań, the billiard player from the Spinning Bill team, also played two matches and, most importantly, won both. The first on his list was Mohammad Soufi, who lost to the representative of Poland 6:9.  In the second battle, the Spaniard Jonss Souto Comino (9:7) turned out to be weaker than Śniegocki. 

Wednesday also delivered the competition victory of  Mariusz Skoneczny. The competitor from Tomaszów Mazowiecki defeated his compatriot Dominik Jastrząb, 9:7 in the first confrontation.  In the next one he sent Johann Chue home, winning 9:5.  Konrad Juszczyszyn, famous of the Baribal Zagłębie Lubin team is also in the uptrend. This player quickly won over Daniel Guttenberger 9: 4, and in the next clash he defeated Bader Alawadhi 9: 6.

Every contender who wins two matches advances to the knockout stage.  Wiktor Zielinski, who on Wednesday did not give his rival a chance, wants to do the same. Aziz Moussati from Morocco lost. Zieliński defeated him 9:4 . Another clash of the athlete of Inmarketing Hades Poznań on Thursday at 12.00. Roman Hybler from the Czech Republic is to be his opponent.  Daniel Maciel, after a victorious clash, will play another one on Thursday at 12.00.

 Radoslaw Babica, who on the first day of the world championships held in the capital of the Świętokrzyskie province, notched up a victory (Jan Van Lierop 9:6) and a defeat (Sanjin Pehlivanovic 6:9) thus he is half-satisfied. The next meeting of the player of the Rokietnica Billiards Academy on Thursday at 19.30. 

Dominik Jastrząb is also gaining the momentun competing with  Simon Kural. The junior world champion lost 7:9 to Mustafa Alnar in the first match, and will play against Mario He in the next match.   Karol Skowerski, Mieszko Fortuński and Thomas Kaplan also had their games. Each of them will have a chance to recuperate on Thursday.
