Official inauguration of the tourist season by the Marshal's Office of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship during the SLOWTRAVEL show
Guests invited to the opening included Senator Krzysztof Słoń, Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Renata Janik, Anita Koniusz, Member of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Board, President of the Polish Tourist Organisation Magdalena Krucz, President of the Regional Tourist Organisation of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Rafał Nowak, Director of the Regional Tourist Organisation and Councillor of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Assembly Marcin Piętak, and Member of the Sejm Lucjan Pietrzczyk.
Presentations at SLOWTRAVEL and speakers highlighted the strengths of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is strengthening its position as an attractive tourist destination, especially for those seeking a "slow travel" vacation. As Marshal Renata Janik emphasises, the region has a rich and diverse offering that combines natural values, cultural heritage, and developing tourism and spa infrastructure. One of the region's greatest advantages is the Świętokrzyskie Mountains – ideal for lovers of hiking and other active recreation. This offer is complemented by an extensive network of trails, including the popular Green Velo cycling route. The voivodeship can also boast well-preserved monuments, such as the castles in Chęciny and Ujazd, as well as sites of particular historical and religious significance, such as the monasteries in Święty Krzyż and Karczówka. The health segment is playing an increasingly important role in tourism development. The health resorts in Busko-Zdrój and Solec-Zdrój attract tourists interested in combining relaxation with health prevention and rehabilitation. The region consistently invests in developing this industry in response to growing market demand. The comprehensiveness of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship's tourist offer means that the region effectively responds to the needs of modern travellers seeking authentic experiences, contact with nature, and opportunities for both physical and mental regeneration.
Rafał Nowak, President of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Regional Tourist Organisation, emphasised the concept of a slow-paced vacation—valuing not the number of places visited or the speed of exploring them, but the quality of the journey and its depth. Magdalena Krucz, President of the Polish Tourist Organisation, emphasised the importance and value of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, as well as the need to promote Poland as a tourist region characterised by beauty, safety, and culinary delights.
The official inauguration of the season took place during the SLOWTRAVEL fair, which lasted until 12 April.
