Innovations in the energy storage sector at the PESA Smart Energy Forum

The latest trends and technologies in the energy storage sector were introduced to the participants of the 2nd PESA Smart Energy Forum conference, during the ENEX trade fair. The event was attended by experts, representatives of companies and institutions dealing with energy transformation. The organiser - the Polish Energy Storage Association with Barbara Adamska, President of the Management Board of the Polish Energy Storage Association who opened the forum

- A lot of money will flood onto the market this year - on the one hand, this is good, on the other, it will be a challenge for the industry, because the deadlines for applying for these funds and signing contracts will be short. Another challenge - the changes regarding the connection of energy storage facilities to the grid. A lot of work ahead of us, but our most important role, which we want to fulfil together with you, is to ensure that the energy storage market develops harmoniously on healthy principles. The Association will make every effort to ensure that member companies are as well prepared as possible for what the market will bring, assured Barbara Adamska.

 Innovations, good practices and green transformation

What was discussed during the second day of the forum?  Experts discussed modern technologies and innovative solutions used in the industry and delivered presentations on topics including intelligent energy management systems (iEMS) and new solutions for battery transport and recycling.

The next session was when experts analyzed the profitability of investing in large-capacity warehouses, pointing out possible business models and financing under support programs.

The last panel focussed on the importance of energy storage for the decarbonization of industry and the heating sector. Real implementation examples were presented, such as the energy micro-grid within the "Green Quarter of KWK Rozbark" project.

 Future storage facilities

The Forum confirmed that energy storage plays a key role in the future of the energy sector.  The innovations, business models and financing opportunities indicated the great development potential of this industry. The event was an opportunity to exchange experiences and establish cooperation between representatives of companies operating in the industry.
