HOL-EXPO Packs a Punch: Scania, Volvo, MAN, Mercedes-Benz and Heavy-Duty Recovery Equipment

14 October 2026
770 hp, six winches, an 18-tonne-capacity recovery boom, massive recovery trucks and long vehicle transporter combinations. The fifth edition of the HOL-EXPO International Roadside Assistance Trade Show is underway at Expo Kielce, and the halls have been buzzing with industry conversations since the very first hours.

There is no shortage of impressive machinery here. Right from the entrance, visitors are greeted by heavy-duty recovery vehicles built on Scania, Volvo, MAN and Mercedes-Benz chassis, alongside smaller, more manoeuvrable recovery trucks and car transporters. Warning lights flash, work lights illuminate the displays, and the vehicle bodies feature imposing booms, stabilisers and winches.

One of the most impressive vehicles on display is a recovery truck based on the Scania 770 XT, powered by a 770 hp V8 engine. It is equipped with six winches and a recovery boom rated for loads of up to 18 tonnes, which extends to almost seven metres. Hydraulically deployed stabilisers provide the necessary stability during heavy-duty recovery operations.

Visitors can also see powerful vehicles based on the Volvo FH, including the FH16 600, heavy-duty MAN recovery trucks and the Mercedes-Benz Actros L 1945. These are machines built for jobs where an ordinary recovery truck simply will not do.

More Than Just Recovery Trucks

HOL-EXPO showcases the full range of equipment supporting modern roadside assistance and vehicle recovery. Exhibitors are presenting winches, cables, hooks and straps, wheel servicing and balancing equipment, work and warning lights, and radio remote-control systems. These allow operators to control recovery equipment while standing right next to the vehicle being recovered or secured.

The displays also include transport combinations capable of carrying several cars at once, as well as specialist vehicle bodies and equipment designed with operational safety in mind.

Business Talks Underway from the Start

Intensive discussions were already taking place at exhibitors’ stands during the first half of the day. Exhibitors are meeting roadside assistance company owners, operators, equipment suppliers and professionals looking for new solutions for their businesses.

The opening day of HOL-EXPO also features workshops on billing and cost estimation for roadside assistance services, bringing industry practitioners together with experts and assessors.

HOL-EXPO runs at Expo Kielce until 16 October. If you work in the roadside assistance and vehicle recovery sector, the next two days are an opportunity to see the equipment up close, compare solutions and speak directly to suppliers.
