Green energy will power Targi Kielce. Over PLN 2 million will be spent on photovoltaics and energy storage on the roof of the new expo hall.

Targi Kielce continues to invest in the development of modern, environmentally friendly infrastructure. On Thursday, 12 June at the Świętokrzyski Development Fund, a PLN 2.145 million loan agreement was signed, which will finance investments in renewable energy sources.

The document was signed by Dr Andrzej Mochoń, President of Targi Kielce, Bożena Staniak, Vice President of the company, and Mariusz Jędrzejewski, President of the Świętokrzyskie Development Fund. Renata Janik, Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, also attended the ceremony. Her presence was not accidental – the Świętokrzyskie Development Fund is a local government entity of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, implementing the region's development policy by financing strategic projects.

The zero-interest loan was granted from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the "Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Trust Fund" project, implemented by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego under the European Funds for Świętokrzyskie program. Importantly, after the investment is completed, a portion of the loan – PLN 643,000 – may be forgiven as a grant.

The money will be used to build a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 220.15 kWp, an energy storage facility with a capacity of 522 kWh, and a green roof on the new exhibition hall.

Targi Kielce - the economic flagship of the Świętokrzyskie region

– Targi Kielce is the economic flagship and landmark of our beautiful region – emphasised Renata Janik, Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.

The Marshal also announced further support for the development of the Kielce centre. The provincial government, together with the Świętokrzyskie Development Fund, plans to co-finance further investments in modern exhibition infrastructure. Their value is expected to reach approximately PLN 10 million, also on very favourable terms, with zero interest.

Mariusz Jędrzejewski, president of the Świętokrzyski Development Fund, spoke about the importance of Targi Kielce for the region's economy.

"The targi Kielce directly impact the economy and promote the region. Every PLN spent by the centre's customers stays in our region. With nearly 300,000 visitors annually, this is of paramount importance," he noted.

Dr. Andrzej Mochoń highlighted the scale of benefits stemming from trade fair activities. "According to calculations by the German trade fair association AUMA, every euro spent at a trade fair translates into six to seven euros spent in the city," said the president of Targi Kielce.

Ecology and savings at Targi Kielce

He emphasised that the preferential loan is not only ecologically important but also strategically important for the company's further development.

"We are building a new hall with our own funds and are also repaying a multi-million PLN investment loan. Therefore, the interest-free loan is crucial for our financial liquidity, especially as we plan further projects. Especially since we are planning further projects.  We are deeply grateful to the Świętokrzyskie Development Fund and the Voivodeship Board. We are developing Targi Kielce not only for ourselves, but for the entire voivodeship, Kielce, and the residents of the region," emphasised Andrzej Mochoń.

The new investment will also generate tangible savings. Energy generated on-site will be stored and used when demand is highest. The green roof will improve the building's energy efficiency and align with the company's sustainable development strategy.

"We are a medium-sized company, and under EU funding rules, we rarely have the opportunity to benefit from such preferential instruments. We would like to thank the Voivodeship Board and the Świętokrzyskie Development Fund for their support and assistance at every stage of this project," noted Bożena Staniak, Vice President of Targi Kielce.
