Doing business with the army – a safe way to put money in your pocket

The objective of the conference held by the Inspectorate of Support for the Armed Forces within the framework of the MSPO,, the Altair Aviation Agency and Targi Kielce was to familiarise potential army partners with the specificity of tendering procedures in the Armed Forces. The other important conference element was the presentation of the areas where the Armed Forces investments account for 3 to billion PLN.

- You will be familiarised with the tasks the Inspectorate of Support for the Armed Forces carries out; and these are considerable investments which also serve as a driving force for Poland’s economy and generate new job possibilities – said Brigadier General. Dariusz Łukowski, Deputy Head for the Inspectorate responsible for Logistics upon the conference inauguration – Material task units and infrastructural investments, owing to purchases of fuels and propellants, lubricants, food products, civil engineering services and materials provide a momentum for domestic economy – adds General Łukowski.

The conference comprised the four thematic units. The first presentation panel was composed of two lectures on military research and development centres’ roles and tasks. Colonel Krzysztof Kacprzak – the Head of the Military Centre for Research and Implementation at Uniform Services and Colonel Paweł Kler – representative of the Military Centre for Research and Implementation at Food Services in Warsaw had their presentations in this section.

This was followed with presentations on acquisition procedure of Military Technical and Technological Documentation and Technical and Functional Conditions and certificates required for supplies provided for the Armed Forces. Lieutenant-Colonel Witold Fedejko – representative of Uniform Services Staff IWsp SZ introduced the listeners into the subject.

The third part focused on products which are the subject to compliance assessment procedure; assessment procedures and rules in the case of products designed for national security purposes; Colonel Krzysztof Kacprzak took the floor again to present these issues.

New technologies utilisation for maintenance and services – the example of the infantry support vehicle PPK SPIKE and KTO ROSOMAK turret system was the main feature of the final presentation.

The meeting concluded in a discussion on the topics presented in the course of the conference.
