20th Timber Industry & Forest Resources Management Fair LAS-EXPO
About the event
It's so green here! Las-Expo is held this October!
For the twentieth time, specialists and industry leaders are brought together at Targi Kielce for the Timber Industry Forest Resources Management Fair Las-Expo. This year's event is held from 8 to 10 October; despite the fact the autumn unveiling is an exception from the regular schedule, it already promises to be hugely attractive. Dozens of wood industry companies will present their latest developments - machines, technical innovations, as well as IT solutions. This is the one-stop shop for the forest management sector.
Sawmill owners, timber harvesting companies, manufacturers of transport machines, insecticides production plants and, last but not least, foresters from all over Poland; they come to Targi Kielce to take part in the most prominent wood industry trade fair.
-At the exhibitors' stands will be the showcase for cutting-edge devices and technologies which facilitate the forestry enterprises' daily business and operations. The expo guests will have the chance to see harvesting tools, appliances for wood transport and processing, including saws, chippers, frame saws and shredders. - says Agnieszka Dąbrowska, the Las-Expo manager. - As every year, machines are presented not only in the exhibition halls but also in outdoor exhibition grounds. This offers the opportunity to observe their machines working life - adds the manager.
Not only is this a display of equipment, but also a live show of advanced ICT systems used by forest-industry specialists on a daily basis. The exhibitors' offer also includes forest protection measures and fire protection systems.
The industry worth millions
The forest management and wood processing sector is one of Poland's most vibrantly developing industries, with a headcount of nearly 330 thousand people, which accounts for 2.5 per cent of all Poland employment. Additional 25,000 people work in the State Forests Holding, and about 50 thousand in companies, which are subcontractors for the holding.
Most importantly, the wood industry is responsible for 2.3 per cent of GDP and 11 per cent of value-added in Poland processing business. Money-wise, this amounts to over PLN 30 billion a year. - We see the great industry's potential related to forest management. We know this sector's significance in Polish industry. Thus we promote the latest solutions used in this sector. We find this the Las-Expo's essential task. - emphasises the exhibition manager Agnieszka Dąbrowska.
Safety comes first
The expo organisers do not forget about safety – this remains our top priority. - Expo organisation an extensive challenge. Today's situation forces us to take additional safety and security measures - emphasises Agnieszka Dąbrowska. - In September and October, Targi Kielce was the home for the International Defence Industry Exhibition, the International Fair of Plastics and Rubber Processing PLASPOL or the Sacroexpo - the Church and Religious Show. - We exercise extra care during these events. Our guests used personal protective equipment. Our cleaning services disinfected door handles and balustrades on a frequent basis. Every person entering the premises was required to go through the decontamination gates. We will also take the proper care when organising and holding the Las-Expo. Most importantly - the manager points out - after last year's events, we did not receive any notification regarding virus infections. - Our exhibition and congress centre was a safe place to hold business meetings.
The Timber Industry & Forest Resources Management Fair LAS-EXPO is held parallel to the International Fair Of Agricultural Techniques AGROTECH, Poland's largest indoor agricultural technologies expo. Every year both exhibitions attract more than 75,000 visitors.
