In addition to the required surface condition of the treated parts, other technical requirements placed on abrasives are also extremely important, such as long service life, low wear of both the turbines and the shot itself, as well as short shot blasting time. The use of steel raw material with a low content of carbon, sulfur and phosphorus brings significantly more benefits, as the shot produced from it does not break into smaller particles too quickly. As a result, it has approximately 20% longer service life than conventional high-carbon shots. Thanks to the high manganese content in Toscelik low-carbon shots, they are much more durable and resistant to the action of impact forces, which are evenly distributed over the entire surface of the shot sphere and are uniformly absorbed by it. During 80% of the operating time in blasting machines, the low-carbon shot sphere wears down and decreases in size in small layers, like an onion, and only a small percentage of the shot is lost due to natural material fatigue.
