TQA Mid-Pressure Compact Clamp for Space-Saving Fixture Design

The new TQA mid-pressure compact clamp extends KOSMEK’s hydraulic link clamp range for fixtures where installation space and overall footprint are critical. The simple machining of the fixture plate is another key advantage, helping to avoid the additional manufacturing costs often associated with competitor solutions. Highlights: Slim 20 mm body for compact fixture layouts Mid-pressure operation from 2 to 21 MPa, double-acting design Optional unclamp confirmation via air sensor for higher process reliability Cartridge type design for easy integration into existing fixture plates Durable sealing and protective structure for long service life in machining environments

Operated with mid-pressure in the range from 2 to 21 MPa, it offers stable hydraulic clamping in a compact design.

With the Smart Series, KOSMEK has launched a completely new concept and unique products for automation. Pallet clamping solutions

Zero Backlash technology allows for backlash-free connection and positioning of components with repeatability of 0.003 mm or better. This technology is available in many Kosmek products, including screw locators, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic pallet clamps and robot tool changers. The quick changeover system includes a whole range of plate couplers that allow for the safe transfer of media such as compressed air or oil between connected elements. It is also possible to hold the pressure inside the pallet after disconnecting it from the power supply.

Workholding

With Kosmek work holding technology, it is possible to achieve the same clamping forces in the low-pressure hydraulics as conventional systems in the high-pressure range. It is also possible to achieve forces typical for hydraulic solution using only pneumatic pressure! This is possible due to patented "mechanical locking" enabling up to 3x higher clamping forces and up to 7x holding forces in the same conditions. Higher clamping and holding forces despite lower pressure allow the use of smaller components thus a better utilization of the machine room respectively the use of smaller and more cost-effective machines. The increased performance of the components allows fewer elements to be used and additionally reduces operating costs due to lower energy consumption.

High Power pneumatic clamping cylinders

Transferring our patented High Power technology from successful hydraulic clamping cylinders line to a dynamically developing pneumatic line us to introduce the advantages of reliable clamping, but without the increased costs of the hydraulic system! Additionally, a unique feature of Kosmek cylinders is the occurrence of two forces acting on the clamped part: pressing force and a significantly higher holding force. This enables to design devices that guarantee a strong hold of the part but with no part deformation. This gives us higher machining accuracy, higher cutting parameters, multi-sided machining, including those generating forces pushing the part away from the fixture. All this allows for reduced number of operations and changeovers.

Robotic Hand Changer and Hole Grippers

The world's most precise robot tool changers with clamping repeatability better than 0.003mm, backlash-free connection in all axes and a service life counted in millions of changeover cycles! All this is possible thanks to KOSMEK's patented Zero Backlash technology. It works perfectly with any grippers (e.g. Hole Clamps) as well as spindles for deburring, drilling or screwing. These changers allow you to transfer some processes from the machine to the robot to optimize production cycles.
