SMT 850 - an abrasive mop disc
SMT 850 is an abrasive mop disc that combines in its make-up lamels made of flexible cotton backing covered with high-quality aluminium oxide grain and non-woven interleaves. Such make-up of the tool allows to reduce the number of operations while processing material. Metal stock surplus removal and polishing can now be carried out with the help of one tool only. This mop disc is recommended especially for processing of weld seams on stainless steel. SMT 850 is available in three grit sizes: coarse, medium, and very fine.
The support plate of the mop disc is made of fibre glass and it supports the lames that rest on its surface under 12o angle. Such positioning of the lamels allows for easier processing of weld seams and edges. The mop disc features a label containing basic health&safety information, also in the form of pictograms. One such piece of information is the instruction about the maximum allowed and recommended RPM. Since the discussed tool contains a non-woven component, it is suggested to work with the recommended speed of the grinder.
