Knowledge, practical approach and the future of the roofing industry at Roof Forum Arena
One of the key points of the program was speeches devoted to training and certification of roofers. Andrzej Szczygieł presented the role of modern Blachotrapez Training Centres in improving the quality of roofing services in Poland. The topics discussed included the examination processes for the Master Sheet Metal Worker title, the Certified Blachotrapez Contractor program, and additional initiatives such as the rental and sale of professional roofing equipment, including PAUS PTK 31 cranes, which provide real support for contractors' daily work.
Strong emphasis was also placed on identity and on developing Roof Forum as an industry event. Bartosz Karpisiak from the Senior National Guild of Roofers, Tinsmiths and Carpenters "WIECHA" summarised the event's previous editions, highlighting the Craft Zone as its heart.
The producers' presentations showed how dynamically technologies and market expectations are changing. The technological dimension of modern investments has brought us closer, as Przemysław Fałek from Budmat demonstrated with prefabrication without compromise. He pointed out the advantages of prefabricated steel systems as a response to the needs of modern construction – speed of implementation, repeatable quality and high precision of workmanship.
Maciej Mrzygłód, representing the Bratex brand, focused on key technical solutions of the company's products, discussing various variants of the standing seam – sliding, modular and snap – as well as system solutions for mounting metal roof tiles and complete systems of facade and soffit panels.
He spoke about changes in the approach to roof design. Marcin Kluz from Regamet, presenting the speech "Leakage. Safety. Design. Three pillars of a modern roof. emphasised that the roof is becoming a key element of architecture today – both technically and aesthetically – responding to the growing demands of architects and investors.
There were also lectures on practical innovations to support roofers on construction sites. Paweł Dworakowski presented practical assembly innovations from HANBUD, who discussed product solutions that facilitate roofers' work and reduce the risk of construction errors. The speech was from a hands-on experience perspective and was addressed directly to the performers.
Artur Skonieczny raised safety on the roof and in business from Ruukki, who presented roof safety systems and technical and economic arguments for their use. It was emphasised that investing in safety also means building a market advantage for contractors.
He spoke about new products and the importance of the Polish market. Przemysław Pokorski from VELUX took participants to the "World of Uncompromising Choices", where technological innovation goes hand in hand with responsibility and quality.
The history of long-term cooperation with the roofing industry was presented by Robert Sadowski from FAKRO, who discussed 35 years of FAKRO's relationship with Polish roofers, highlighting innovations emerging from dialogue with the market and directions for further development.
He spoke about practice and the direction of product development. Maciej Śliwocki, president of IVT, emphasises that the company has been combining craftsmanship tradition with modern solutions for years, providing real support to roofers in their daily work.
One of the most essential substantive points of the program was the DAFA Association Conference, devoted to the design of horizontal safety systems on flat roofs. Experts – Leszek Grabowski, Maciej Moskwa, Marek Sikora and Marcin Kurzyński – drew attention to the lack of clear design guidelines, the threats posed by design errors, and the need to standardise risk assessment. Proprietary tools for designing and selecting fall protection were also presented.
The Main Arena program was complemented by a speech by Piotr Garstka from the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Timber Industry, who discussed the current situation in the timber industry and highlighted its importance to the construction and roofing sectors.
The Roof Forum again confirmed that the future of the roofing industry is based on knowledge, dialogue and quality – both in technological and organisational terms. Expert lectures showed that a modern roof is the result of conscious design decisions, precise artistry, and the partnership among all participants in the investment process.
