A precise, non-contact 3DScanner "micron3D" in narrowband green light LED technology

Based on a survey among users of the existing models produced by the SMARTTECH company, basic assumptions for a a new generation of 3D scanner have been developed. As the result the next generation of non-contact 3D scanners based on the narrow-band, structured green light method projection has been developed. This is one of the optical in-field measurement methods;  the streaks of green LED light is cast on the object which is measured . Digital object mapping is calculated on the basis of streaks sequences bent on the subject. Measurements with the use of narrowband green light will substantially increase the accuracy compared to existing 3D scanners available in the market. The use of a LED light source reduces energy consumption and increases life of the appliance as such.  micron3D   has been designed by SMARTTECH engineers so as to provide the user with reliable operation and full mobility. The   micron3D   scanner housing and support structure have been made of a modern, durable material - carbon. Thus the whole structure is more robust. What is also significant, the impact of ambient temperature on the device accuracy is minimized; this is  especially important when the scanner is used outside the laboratory.

In addition, the special-construction  vibration-damping solutions have been applied  in 3Dscanner; the sensitive inside of the machine is also protected with the use of dust-tight filter with replaceable cartridge; this can be cleaned by the end user. The   micron3D  scanner is the ideal tool for quality control and reverse engineering owing to its carbon and dust-tight body; the appliance can also be used outside the metrology laboratory yet still provide accurate measurement as declared by the manufacturer. As a professional and factory-calibrated metrology tool, the   micron3D   scanner is the manufacturer -certified according to the German standard VDI / VDE 2634, and its measurement accuracy can be further certified by an independent, accredited metrology laboratory .

With the the use of the latest technologies such as LED light source or GigaBit Ethernet communication, the appliance makes it possible to perform complex measurements. The rich standard equipment includes: laser pointers for easier 3D scanner positioning in relation to the object measured, tripod with a  tilt & turn head and a wheeled base which makes it easier to transport the device in an easy and smooth way. Two measurement modes (FAST and PRECISE) allow for additional hardware reduction whenever maximum resolution sampling density it is not required . All these features combined with a certificate of accuracy and a transport, dust-proof and easy to manoeuvre box make this scanner a non-contact optical measurement CMM.
