After 2011, records were established every consecutive expo; technological and market changes in agriculture kept accelerating. Farms grew, farmers modernized their assets and expanded machinery parks. A solid injection of EU money helped.
Agrotech was hailed as the largest indoor expo in the country;
The expansion of Targi Kielce to include the most modern expo hall E in the country (opened in 2010) fuelled the development of Agrotech. The indoor exhibition area of the expo centre increased to 36 thousand m², although it was still necessary to build temporary expo halls. In 2011, the Agrotech occupied about 45 thousand m². The indoor space increase allowed for more extensive expo stands, more flamboyant presentations of modern agricultural machines and technologies dedicated to precision farming. Year by year, the number of visitors, exhibitors and occupied space increased until they reached the limits -
in 2018, the trade show hosted over 70,000 people, and the exhibition was staged in 11 exhibition halls and the outdoor exhibition grounds. Agrotech was hailed as the largest indoor expo in the country and has thus strenghtened and secured its leading position. 2019 reported record-high attendance – approximately 75 thousand visitors. 750 companies from 25 countries presented their offers on 66 thousand square meters. Agrotech has established as one of the key events in Central and Eastern Europe.
Future technologies at Targi Kielce
The trade fair always abounded with premieres and new products imported from all over the world. Expos were ahead of needs, futuristic technologies were available at the fingertips. Manufacturers and suppliers focused on automation and digitalization of agricultural work; Modern tractors, combine harvesters and agricultural machines influenced the work efficiency and farmers’ comfort. The introduction of smart farm management systems, drones designed to monitor fields, and agricultural machinery with artificial intelligence onboard have become mainstream trends at exhibitions. Growing interest was in sustainable agriculture, technologies that reduced chemical use and improved soil quality.
COVID-19 pandemic
2020 Agrotech was supposed to break the 2019 record; Targi Kielce expo halls were already full of tractors, combine harvesters and machines. The epidemic struck and the emergency stage was announced on 13 March. The first restrictions were introduced, forcing the organizers to cancel the trade fair.
