A number of contracts have been approved by the Minister of National Defence during MSPO. “These weapons effectively deters the aggressor."
On the first day of the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Targi Kielce, the Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak approved a number of contracts. Mr Andrzej Duda, the Republic of Poland President was also at the PGZ expo stand.
The first package of contracts concluded between the State Treasury and the government of the United States of America concerns the purchase of elements of the WISŁA anti-aircraft and anti-missile defence system. The package of three contracts stipulates that Poland will obtain 12 omni-directional LTAMDS radars, 48 launchers of the PATRIOT M903 system and a supply of PAC-3 MSE missiles. A training and logistics package was also contracted. The second package of contracts concluded between the State Treasury and the PGZ-Narew Consortium concerns the supply of key elements of the Narew programme. Another contract concluded between the State Treasury and the PGZ-Pilica+ Consortium concerns the supply of Zenit-MP+ Automated Command Posts for the Pilica+ Rocket and Artillery Sets. Agreement between the State Treasury and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace concerns the purchase of Naval Strike Missile (NSM) system components for two new Naval Missile Units. The last document is a framework agreement concluded between the State Treasury and WB Electronics for the supply of FlyEye Miniature Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
- The agreements are the continuation of the programs we have undertaken to modernize the Polish army, and finally to ensure the security of the Republic of Poland and all of us, its inhabitants, as well as our neighbours and the entire eastern flank of NATO - said the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. - Today, every piece of Polish land is equally important and protected in the same way. I am very happy that we are implementing these programs to build Polish air defence capabilities. These extremely expensive, but also the most modern systems in the world determine the safety of our compatriots.
- We are very satisfied with the fact that the Polish Army has been developing so dynamically - in the sense of the Polish Army cutting-edge equipment. The agreements concerning the construction of a multi-layer air and missile defense system are particularly important. We started almost from scratch. (...) I would like to thank you for the very good cooperation with the United States and the United Kingdom - said Minister Mariusz Błaszczak during the approval of contracts for the purchase of equipment for the Polish Army.
- I have just approved the contract for the second phase of the Patriot system. (...) The second contract concerns the Narew system. (...) Our great achievement is also that the Polish Army will be equipped with omnidirectional radars - this is a novelty. (...) We are already implementing the IBCS command system. The most modern system in the world that offers network-centricity. Patriots will be connected to one network together with i-Launchers, coupled with the Narew system. Also, artillery launchers will be attached to this network. F-35 aircraft will also operate within this network, which will be delivered to the Polish Army next year. (…) Today we have one Naval Missile Unit; we just ordered two more. This is also a very good weapon. These weapons effectively deters the aggressor - said Minister
