A key area of Somfy's development is smart solar shading. Automated blinds, shutters, awnings and screens can not only improve everyday comfort, but also help reduce overheating in summer, make better use of natural daylight and lower the energy required for cooling and heating. Somfy's presence in Poland also includes significant manufacturing and technological capabilities. Since 2014, the Somfy factory in Niepołomice has been producing motors for solar shading solutions. The site also hosts a Research & Development centre and a laboratory, strengthening Somfy's technological expertise within the Group.
