Product description
REGUPOL protective layers for photovoltaic and solar installations on flat roofs are developed in accordance with DIN 18531. They reliably protect roof waterproofing membranes against mechanical loads during installation and operation, thereby extending the service life of the waterproofing system.
The protective layers are available in various versions, including the following:
• Flame-retardant design (BROOF(t1)) for projects with increased fire protection requirements
• With aluminium lamination, acting as a separation layer for non-rubber-compatible waterproofing membranes and preventing plasticiser migration
• Self-adhesive version for fast and secure positioning, even on complex roof structures
In addition, individual cut-to-size solutions and custom fabrications are available to ensure optimal adaptation to the respective mounting system or substructure.

REGUPOL solar alu
REGUPOL solar alu is a protective layer for photovoltaic and solar installations on flat roofs with non-rubber-compatible waterproofing. The product complies with DIN 18531 and the Flat Roof Guidelines. An aluminium triplex foil laminated to the underside prevents unwanted interactions such as plasticiser migration, including with PVC-P waterproofing membranes. The protective layer reliably protects roof waterproofing against mechanical and thermal influences. REGUPOL solar alu is pressure-resistant, permanently elastic, resistant to microbes, temperature and ageing, vapour-permeable and rot-proof. The product can be individually adapted to the mounting system and consists of up to 95 percent PUR-bonded rubber granules made from recycled tyres.
REGUPOL solar alu is an elastic prefabricated protective mat designed for use on flat roofs and underneath photovoltaic and solar systems. The black protective layer is made from selected rubber granules bound with polyurethane and features a triplex aluminium foil laminated to the underside, ensuring compatibility with non-rubber-compatible waterproofing systems. REGUPOL solar alu is available in various thicknesses, which can be individually adapted to project requirements and the respective mounting system; a standard thickness of 8 mm is commonly used. The product has a specific weight of 780 kg/m³ and a surface weight of 6.24 kg/m². According to DIN EN ISO 1798, the material (without lamination) achieves a tensile strength of 0.65 N/mm² and an elongation at break of 55 percent. The compressive stress at 25 percent compression is 0.70 N/mm² in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3386-2. REGUPOL solar alu is temperature-resistant from –40 °C up to +90 °C and classified as fire resistance class E according to DIN EN 13501-1. The product is Cradle to Cradle Certified® at the Bronze level, highlighting its sustainable material concept and contribution to circular economy principles.

REGUPOL solar fire is a protective layer for photovoltaic installations on flat roofs with increased fire protection requirements. The product complies with DIN 18531, the Flat Roof Guidelines and holds a General Building Authority Test Certificate (AbP). At a thickness of ≥ 8 mm, it achieves fire classification BROOF (t1) according to DIN EN 13501-5, providing resistance to flying sparks and radiant heat. The protective layer reliably protects roof waterproofing and thermal insulation against mechanical and thermal influences. REGUPOL solar fire consists of up to 95 percent PUR-bonded rubber granules made from recycled tyres.
