"MATER ECCLESIAE" – An Exhibition of Papal Madonnas

To mark the 20th anniversary of the passing of Saint John Paul II and the election of Pope Benedict XVI, this year’s Sacroexpo will feature a unique exhibition titled MATER ECCLESIAE.

Visitors to Sacroexpo will have the rare opportunity to admire depictions of Papal-canonically crowned Madonnas in Poland—images deeply rooted in the spiritual tradition and history of the Church. The artworks have been created by members of the “Lumen” group, artists affiliated with the Christian Association of Sacred Art Creators ECCLESIA. Each piece is not only a testament to artistic mastery, but also a profound expression of faith and spiritual contemplation.

The MATER ECCLESIAE exhibition serves as a special tribute to the pontificates of two great Popes and an homage to the Blessed Virgin Mary—revered as the one who continually accompanies the Church.

The exhibition will be open to all visitors of Sacroexpo 2025.
