THE CHURCH - ARTS - BUSINESS - Kielce's SACROEXPO 2021 marks its success in history
The International Exhibition of Church Construction, Church Fittings and Furnishings and Religious SACROEXPO has been organised for twenty years. This year's expo held in pandemic times brought together 172 companies from 8 countries; the expo hosted 2,500 guests.
SACOEXPO has become a permanent fixture in the business calendar of the Kielce exhibition and congress centre as well as in the calendars of the church milieus. Despite unfavourable, pandemic-triggered circumstances, the exhibition turned out to be a success. - Every year SACREOXPO proves to be a great show; however, this year's edition has exceeded my expectations - said Jan Jakóbczak from the Jakóbczak company. As every year, the expo halls were filled to the brim; a wide range of products and services related to churches and places of worship activities. The International Exhibition of Church Construction, Church Fittings and Furnishings and Religious Art SACROEXPO is Central and Easter Europe's most important business event for church, religious and spiritual art, products and services. This is the only event of its kind, in its nature which verges with commerce and culture.
SACROEXPO - where spiritual and secret art meets business
For years SACROEXPO has attracted thousands of visitors to Kielce. This year's expo hosted more than 2,500 guests. Targi Kielce is a one-stop-shop presentation of the latest trends in sacral art, devotional items and accessories, as well as church fitments, new technologies for sacral construction and properties and heritage conservation. This year's exhibitors list included 172 firms and organisations from 8 countries such as: Poland, the United States, Spain, Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Italy and Slovakia. The expo stands featured intricate icons and religious paintings, as well as stained glass windows made with extraordinary precision. The show also abounds with sculptures, figurines of saints and elaborated Christmas nativity scenes. The expo halls were the display for albs, church textiles, rosaries, prayer books and icons, complemented with a wide range of services. There were also companies specialising in equipping and furnishing od religious buildings; heating and audiovisual systems providers. Innovative design solutions and adequate security systems were also presented at the show. The expo visitors had the possibility to become familiar
with solutions designed to improve churches functioning in a pandemic: contactless stoups, donors and donation machines complemented with the offer of companies which make it possible to broadcasts audio-video signals on the Internet - on YouTube or Facebook. SACROEXPO featured a whole array of books devoted to the beatification ceremony of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński and Nun Elżbieta Czacka. It has become the expo tradition to hold a series of conferences Meeting of Male and Female Consulta to the Conference of Polish Church Economy Officers and Monastery Superiors in Poland, the session of Provincial Orders Secretaries and Economy Officers in Poland, members of the St. Antonia Association of Church Members' Reciprocity and a debate on the problems related to energy and gas purchasing organised by the Forum of Inter-Religious Cooperation, the Commission for Economic Issues of KWPZM Conference of Men Congregations' Superiors in Poland and INNPACT.
The best expo stand prizes were awarded - this tradition recognises the expo arrangement and for the best products showcased at the exhibition. TOP DESIGN 2021 distinctions for elegance and innovative exhibition presentation style were presented to Ornaty.pl - Haftina Atelier and Krakow Stained Glass Workshop SG Żeleński. The distinction for the company's original presentation went to Garden Spot and Axencia Turismo De Galicia. The distinctions for the best products showcased at the trade fair went to Garden Spot Int and Bracia Dąbrowski. The medals in the same category were awarded the Kruszewski Brothers Bell Foundry. Medals of honour were also awarded during the ceremony. The Honorary MEdal of HE Primate, Fr. Józef Cardinal Glemp was awarded to JM Tradycja Jarosław Kupryjaniuk from Białystok for the paintings of Our Lady of Częstochowa presented as multi-generational images. The Honorary Prize of its Excellence Bishop Of Kielce Jan Piotrowski was awarded to the company Jakóbczak Studio for a glass mosaic with the image of the Holy Spirit. Honorary Medal of His Excellence Primate Archbishop Wojciech Polak was awarded to the AVGUL stained glass company for the innovative use of old technologies in stained glass making. The Orthodox Archbishop of Przemyśl - the Most Reverend Paisius from Gorlice also presented distinctions as recognition of good work for the Christ's Church, in the spirit of sacrifice, ecumenism and Christian love. These have been presented to: Maciej Żmija, the "Żmija” company, Henryk Leszczyński, the SACRIMEX company, Małgorzata and Daniel Dąbrowscy -" Dąbrowscy Church Supply Centre", Robert Grabowski," Byzantine Icons ", Zbigniew Falczyński - master of the bell foundry and Grzegorz Gros, “Teleradiomechanics Works" Hi-fi " .
The Per Artem ad Deum Medal - Through Arts to God
An extremely important point and at the same time the tradition of the SACROEXPO is the gala awarding ceremony. Outstanding artists or institutions which boast exceptional artistic achievements contributing to the development of culture and art are awarded by the Pontifical Council for Culture with the Per Artem ad Deum Meda. Targi Kielce SACROEXPO is the only place in the world where this unique distinction is awarded. Since 2005, the artistic achievements of 29 laureates have been appreciated and applauded in the Kielce exhibition and congress centre, and among them Ennio Morricone, Krzysztof Zanussi, Krzysztof Penderecki and Wojciech Kilar. This year, an outstanding Polish poet, Ernest Bryll, has joined the fellowship. -"I have received the Per Artem Ad Deum award. (...) A very important one because it is bestowed in Rome by the Pontifical Council for Culture. I am now among the few artists from Poland, those close to my heart, with I belong to this award fellowship (..) - emphasises Ernest Bryll - winner of this year's Per Artem Ad Deum award ".
Around religious and spiritual art
SACROEXPO is also a cultural event which encompasses concerts, exhibitions and meetings with famous personages from the world of culture and art. This year's expo guests had the opportunity to see the exhibition and join the conference which featured KHRYSTYNA KVYK - an artist, painter, art teacher, a graduate of the Faculty of Sacred Art of the Lviv National Academy of Arts and a laureate of the International Iconographic Competition "New Epiphany of Beauty". In the meeting devoted to "The icon yesterday and today", organised by the Wesoła54 Pastoral Centre, the artist talked about her path and how icons writing started; she also shared her inspirations. - The road has been long (...) - said the artist. it continued until I was admitted to the Lviv Academy of Fine Arts, to the department of sacred art (...) Then I started to be more interested in writing icons (...) After that, I fell in love with this kind of art. At the same time, icons writing began to shape my attitude towards Christianity and religion in general (...) - added Khrystyna Kvyk.
The meeting was also attended by Professor Krystyna Stawecka PhD. Hab., the head of the Museum of Icons in Supraśl, who introduced the participants to the history of the icon. - (…) Icons change, evolve all the time, getting richer. Icons are an artistic expression of the change, (...) an image of the reality in which it is created - she said.
