Description
SUMTEQ GmbH has developed the world's first scalable nanoporous polymer foam called Sumfoam, which opens up a wide range of applications while putting special focus on sustainability. Redefining the value of plastics – this is our vision. From the production with a climate-friendly blowing agent to energy-efficient use and almost complete recycling, Sumfoam helps reduce the carbon footprint.

Its special performance is due to the foam's pore size, which is in the range of less than 50 nanometers and thus more than 1,000 times smaller than that of conventional foams. In loose form of granules, flakes or powder, the material class can be utilized flexibly. With its light and stable structure, Sumfoam not only has extraordinary insulating properties, but also opens up new possibilities in the plastics industry.

The small open-cell pores provide a strong capillary effect through which liquids are absorbed and bound like a sponge. Sumfoam absorbs many times its own weight, making it the ideal carrier material for plasticizers, PCMs and other oleophilic additives.

As dry liquids, for example plasticizers can be added flexibly to the extrusion process. This makes it easy to recycle PVC residues directly in the production plant. Time-consuming external processing is no longer necessary.

Sumfoam carriers also bind fragrances in the form of microcapsules over the long term. This means that printing inks on clothing can be recharged with individual perfumes again and again. Using Sumfoam carrier materials for liquids offers endless possibilities which we are happy to show you at our booth.
