Description
The Accredited Laboratories that are part of the KOMAG Research Institute specialize in testing plastics and rubber.

Laboratory of Material Engineering and Environment (No. AB 910)

The laboratory offers testing the hazardous chemical substances in polymeric materials, rubbers and the products made of them, including the determination of the following:
- the content of phthalates, polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), organic tin compounds (OTC), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), benzene for compliance with the requirements of the REACH Regulation,
- migration of elements for compliance with PN EN 71-3 and the content of preservatives, flame retardants, bisphenol A (BPA), monomers, plasticizers, N-nitrosamines in toys and children articles for compliance with the requirements of Directive 2009/48/EC TSD (Toy Safety Directive),
- the content of flame retardants (PBB, PBDE), phthalates, metals in electric and electronic equipment for compliance with the RoHS II Directive.

Activity of the Laboratory also includes testing the products intended for contact with food in the scope of global and specific migration: BPA, primary aromatic amines, elements, formaldehyde.
The laboratory specializes in tests identifying the type of plastic or rubber as well as assessment of resistance to light and weathering of plastics, textiles, paints and varnishes.

Laboratory of Tests (No. AB 039)

As part of its activity, the laboratory offers testing the plastic and rubber products in the scope of mechanical properties, geometric dimensions, leak tightness, tensile strength, elongation, static strength, dynamic strength, force, pressure, flow rate, abrasion resistance of the outer layer of rubber hoses. In addition, it specializes in testing the hydraulic components as well as structural products and components and mine powered roof supports.
