Sieć Badawcza ŁUKASIEWICZ - Łódzki Instytut Technologiczny

Description
Łukasiewicz - ŁIT began its activities on April 1, 2022. It was formed from the merger of three Lodz institutes operating in the Łukasiewicz Research Network: Łukasiewicz - Institute of Biopolymers and Chemical Fibers, Łukasiewicz - Institute of Leather Industry and Łukasiewicz - Institute of Textiles.
Łukasiewicz - ŁIT is more than 440 employees, nearly 90 million annual budget, unique equipment and potential of scientific staff located in 7 research centers, operating in more than a dozen economically relevant research areas.
The headquarters of Łukasiewicz - ŁIT is located at 19/27 Maria Skłodowska-Curie Street in Lodz. The institute also has five other Lodz locations, as well as one each in Krakow and Warsaw. These are mainly laboratory spaces used by scientists for research and office spaces dedicated to serving entrepreneurs. It is also the production halls where implementation work is carried out and experimental production and mechanical workshops are launched, as well as an equally important part where the Institute's administration is located.
The core business of Łukasiewicz - ŁIT is the implementation of research projects and international cooperation in scientific research, development work and commercialization.
Łukasiewicz - ŁIT carries out projects that naturally fit into the existing scientific and research activities of the merged institutes. Crucially, the unit is also active in entirely new areas available through the combination of unique research potentials.
The consolidation of Lodz's Łukasiewicz institutes has contributed to the development of innovative solutions compatible with the textile industry, particularly in the areas of circular economy, biomedicine and digitization of technology. Until now, none of the three Łukasiewicz institutes in Lodz has been able to fit into all the strategic directions of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, corresponding to the most relevant needs of entrepreneurs.
With the merger, Łukasiewicz - ŁIT covers 4 key research areas of the Łukasiewicz Research Network: Digital Transformation, Smart Mobility, Sustainable Economy and Energy, and Health.
Łukasiewicz - Lodz Institute of Technology is a member of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, the third largest research network in Europe. It is a major market player providing attractive, complete and competitive business and technology solutions in the areas of automation, chemistry, biomedicine, ICT, materials and advanced manufacturing.
As part of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, we offer business a unique "challenge system”, in which a group of 4,500 scientists accepts a business challenge in no more than 15 working days and proposes to the entrepreneur an effective implementation solution. In doing so, we engage the highest competence of scientists in Poland and a scientific equipment that is unique in the country.
