Description
The Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG-PIB) is a research and development unit acting under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The main fields of scientific activity are: soil science, fertilisation, soil cultivation, cultivation of cereals and fodder crops, breeding and cultivation of hops and tobacco, issues of phytochemistry and agricultural microbiology, evaluation of various farming systems, weed control in agricultural crops, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, bioeconomy.
In 2005, IUNG obtained the status of a state research institute. The Institute has a modern research infrastructure of the Innovation and Scientific Center for Agricultural Research (INCBR).
