Team for Development of the RES Industry and Benefits for the Polish Economy

In April this year, the Minister of Climate, Michał Kurtyka appointed the Team for the Development of the Renewable Energy Sources Industry and Benefits for the Polish Economy; an opinion-making and advisory body to the minister responsible for climate and energy matters.

The Team main tasks include the development of recommendations on the directions for the Polish renewable energy industry, maximising of benefits for the domestic economy on the way to climate neutrality and ensuring the energy security of the state. The Team will also work on the preparation of both legislative and non-legislative solutions which will serve the implementation of the above-mentioned objectives.

- Our priority is to prepare appropriate tools which contribute to ensuring our state’s energy security. I hope that the recommendations and legislative solutions developed by the Team will make it possible to intensify and coordinate of activities aimed at renewable energy in Poland - emphasised the head of the Ministry of Climate, Michał Kurtyka.

According to the regulation, the recommendations prepared by the Team will concern the following thematic areas:

  • Clean heat energy
  • Eco-transport,
  • The local dimension of energy,
  • Hydrogen economy,
  • Just Transformation,
  • Large-scale zero-emission energy sources.

The Team is chaired by the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Climate, the Government Plenipotentiary for Renewable Energy Sources.

The Team consists of:

  • Engineer Paweł Skowronski PhD. Assistant Professor, Institute of Thermal Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology - responsible for the clean heat area
  • Grzegorz Tchorek PhD, Centre for Europe of the University of Warsaw - responsible for the area of eco-transport
  • Engineer  Karol Wawrzyniak PhD., National Centre for Nuclear Research - responsible for the area of local energy dimension
  • Professor Engineer Jakub Kupecki, PhD. Hab, Institute of Power Engineering - responsible for the hydrogen economy
  • Professor extraordinarius Adam Drobniak PhD. Hab, University of Economics in Katowice - responsible for the area of just transformation
  • Professor extraordinarius Konrad Świrski PhD. Hab, Institute of Thermal Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology - responsible for the area of large-scale zero-emission energy sources
