The Terrorist Prevention Centre will present the famous ENIGMA!

30 august 2022
CPT is a specialized unit of the Internal Security Agency dealing with broadly defined anti-terrorist prevention. Prevention is the first line of defence against terrorism, which is why the unit, established in 2018, provides practical knowledge designed to increase the country's level of security.

A comprehensive attitude towards terrorism, prevention and raising awareness about the nature and forms of this phenomenon among employees of the public and private sectors as well as civil society structures - these are the priorities. The Center's mission and the strategic goal is to build a strong safety culture. The employees are convinced that this will make our country and its citizens more resistant to radicalization and terrorist-extremist threats. In order to meet the related challenges, CPT ABW organizes numerous trainings, workshops, and conferences, and also prepares specialist publications. In cooperation with other institutions, it conducts exercises to verify the level of exposure of Polish critical infrastructure to malicious, extremists' attacks. It counteracts the abuse of innovative technologies, CBRN substances and explosives.

Participation in the MSPO offers an excellent opportunity to share knowledge about the activity and work to increase the level of security and to show the special role of CPT ABW in a wide group of national and international institutions working in the security, defence and public order sectors.

During this year's edition, the unit will present a museum copy of ENIGMA - a rotor machine encrypting the reports of the armed forces of the Third Reich, which was decoded by a team of Polish cryptologists from the Cipher Bureau of the Second Department of the Polish Army General Staff. The outstanding success of the Polish secret services of the Second Republic of Poland contributed to the faster resolution of World War II, and the achievements in this area are still a determinant of the current directions of activities and the ambitions of Polish security structures.
