The Proud Veteran Statuette distinction, founded in 2013, is awarded by members of the Association of Injured and Victims on Missions Outside the Country.  Companies and institutions supporting the activities of the Association, helping soldiers wounded and injured in missions, are thus recognised.  The award does not only reflect financial support, but also broadly understood cooperation and the laureate's commitment to supporting the veteran community.

The statuette was made by Ret. Lt. Grzegorz Wajda. The statuette symbolises a veteran soldier who, despite wounds, is proud to offer their services.

Ever since created, the Association has prospered to establish contacts with people and strike up cooperation with various types of institutions and companies willing to support activities designed to help injured veterans and families of the fallen.

The Association's main objective is to represent the community before civil and military authorities, create systemic legal solutions to help veterans injured in missions.

Knowledge and financial support make it possible for the Association to implement many aid programs each year. The scheme includes rehabilitation camps and therapeutic workshops, activities aimed at professional retraining of soldiers who have been wounded and now need to be assisted in finding their bearings in the new reality. The Association also supports the victims' families, those in the most challenging situations. The Association offers them grants.
