In 2009 STOM was not affected by the crisis. Dozens of new products being launched onto the market, over 200 companies from 18 countries, i.e. Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Turkey, Finland, Spain, Holland, Hungary, Austria, Chine, Taiwan, USA, India, Japan and Korea. Such is the picture of the 2nd Exhibition of Metalworking and Metal Machining, which was held in the halls of Targi Kielce in late March 2009.

In 2009 this exhibition was the eighth fair event organized by Targi Kielce to have been honoured with a European Medal for Services. The idea of that project was initiated by the European Economic and Social Committee, the Office of the Committee for European Integration and the Business Centre Club.

Industry support for this year's Exhibition of Metalworking and Metal Machining STOM has been provided by the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology in Cracow. The Institute is a well-established research and development centre specializing in chip, abrasive and erosion machining processes, technical metrology as well as manufacturing process implementation and automation.
