A waste management advisory team established
The tasks-force objectives include developing systemic, short and long term solutions in the field of waste management as well as in the field of improving the selective collection of municipal waste. Attention has also been paid to the necessity to achieve the level of preparation of waste for reuse and recycling, as assumed by the European Union.
Other tasks will also include:
- developing solutions aimed at reducing the operating costs and improving municipal waste management systems;
- developing solutions in the Extended Producer Responsibility (ROP) systems, including analyses of the possibility of extending the ROP system to subsequent product groups;
- development of recommendations and legal solutions for the use of bio-waste for the production of fertilisers and agents improving soil properties;
- development of solutions designed to support waste-prevention, including food waste, and the reuse of products.
Apart from the employees of the ministry, the team's work will comprise:
- a representative of the Union of Polish Metropolises,
- a representative of the Union of Polish Towns,
- a representative of the Union of Rural Communes of the Republic of Poland,
- a representative of the Association of Polish Cities,
- a representative of the Association of Polish Poviats,
- a representative of the Union of Provinces of the Republic of Poland,
- a representative of entrepreneurs delegated by the Polish Chamber of Commerce,
- a representative of non-governmental organisations delegated by European
- Environmental Bureau from among non-governmental organisations in
RP, - representative of the Institute of Environmental Protection - National Institute
Team meetings will be held quarterly at the seat of the Ministry of Climate and Environment or in a remote mode.
