07 september 2022
The fact that it is worth using European research and development projects and cooperating with foreign governments, institutions and agencies were discussed by the participants of the conference "European projects as an opportunity for the PGZ Group".

- The European Defence Agency offers excellent opportunities for representatives of the defence sector. Many technological panels include representatives of the Polish Armaments Group - Marek Kalbarczyk from the European Defence Agency, who was present at the conference. PGZ is present at 8 of the 14 so-called CapTechach. He emphasized that cooperating with EDA makes it possible to develop a brand and establish contacts with foreign consortia, becoming a full member in the future. - Participation in European projects gives recognition in the industry and opens many doors. Internal access to the latest technologies, not as a final recipient, but as an entity having a real impact on the development. - added the representative of the EDA.

Recently, the EDA, like the whole of Europe, has put great emphasis on the implementation of "green" projects in response to climate change, this includes defence industry sector. The European Defence Agency analyses the industrial and technology sectors in the context of agreed EU priorities in order to fill gaps and dependence on markets outside the Union. - Its tasks include the analysis of production capacity, technology and skills, and the possibilities of using available EU financial instruments to strengthen the position of the European industrial and technological base - said the representative of the European Defence Agency.

EDA supports cooperation, enhances new initiatives and introduces solutions designed to increase defence capabilities, it also helps the Member States to develop joint defence capabilities. EDA also plays a key role in facilitating the development of the capabilities that underpin the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy. The EDA also works to strengthen the European defence sector and acts as an intermediary in the process of shaping EU policy that impacts on defence by facilitating cooperation between interested parties in the military sector of the Member States, as is the case with the Polish Armaments Group.

Head Officer of the Department of Commerce and International Cooperation  Michał Żołnierowicz, spoke about the most critical tasks . - Our objectives certainly include the definition of strategic goals in the area of innovative defence techniques and technologies, as well as the management of research and development activities in the Ministry of National Defence, both in the domestic and international arena - he added. He also emphasized the pivotal importance of initialization and creation of mechanisms designed to support the innovation policy in the research and development environment of the ministry.

The conference organized by Polish Armaments Group SA showed that foreign cooperation and the European projects offer Polish companies, including PGZ, technological development chances. Active participation in the defence sector is also boosted.
