Energy storage designed to share electricity. This topic promises to be a real hit at Enex
The New Energy Regional Economic Forum was the discussion platform about the energy future in Poland. Nuclear power plants, the use of hydrogen, the development of photovoltaics, heat pumps and the future of electric cars were discussed in addition to "energy storage". The latter solution is a perfect choice for households and companies equipped with photovoltaic installations and a way to relieve the power grid.
“We are the first generation to store solar energy and do use it at our discretion. We actually make history.“ Krzysztof Bukała from Soltec, a partner of the largest renewable energy expo in Poland, i.e. Targi Kielce;s Enex, talks about energy storage.
– Many photovoltaic installations in households, the so-called prosumer ones generate electricity from solar radiation; whatever is unused, goes to the grid. In turn, the network is increasingly overloaded; adding a device to the photovoltaics designed to store unused energy is the best solution. This is a type of intermediary. Storage equipment is most often electrochemical batteries which makes it possible to use energy whenever wanted - explains the expert.
According to Krzysztof Bukała, the development of energy storage facilities is going to boom; the energy not used by prosumers can be aggregated into one virtual system. - We thus obtain a super power plant that can save the power system. A single prosumer, becoming a flexument, i.e. the producer and owner of the energy storage, is an essential element of the new market model and they can provide flexibility services to the network. A virtual power plant can share energy. We will be able to lend someone 10 kilowatts, or even to sell energy. This is a fantastic vision – recapitulates the expert.
