12th Fair of Ecology, Municipal Waste Services, Recyclable Materials, Waste Management and Recycling EKOTECH
Date of next exhibition: 1-3 March, 2011

At Targi Kielce anything is possible, including "talking waste bins". The 9th Fair of Ecology, Municipal Waste Services, Recyclable Materials, Waste Management and Recycling EKOTECH brought together exhibitors putting on display special equipment, in addition to attracting 6,000 visitors.
Importantly, the EKOTECH fair is organized in a region where ecological issues are increasingly going to the top of priority lists. The exhibition stands featured all the areas of modern waste management, including containers for municipal waste and recyclable materials, hydraulic presses, press containers, special mills utilized in the recycling industry, as well as various kinds of equipment for safe and cost-effective waste storage. The Targi Kielce exhibition centre hosted companies that closely co-operate with local authorities and municipal companies, thus contributing to the improvement in many areas of water and sewage treatment.
In 2010, the stands showcased many interesting exhibits, e.g. the latest glass reprocessing technology – implosion. Its main advantage is enhanced cost-effectiveness. Glass waste does not require preliminary sorting or preparing. A recycling process of this kind is less time-consuming, in addition to lowering labour-costs. The Krysteline machines are distributed by the Metropolis company.

They are capable of expressing gratitude for the disposed paper and encourage environmentally friendly attitudes. "Talking waste bins” is an innovative solution, the presentation of which was made by the Juka company. The waste bins speak using different voices, depending on the form that they take on. By-passers can be spoken to by a janitor, dog, ladybird, and even a dolphin. With their eye-catching design, these products can be used as decorations in aquatic centres, shopping centres, play grounds, and many other places. The waste bins especially attract children's attention, which adds a great deal of fun to ecological education.
Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce showed a technologically advanced measurement vehicle developed by its Independent Institute of Environmental Protection and Planning. It is one of Poland's most sophisticated devices of its kind. This off-road vehicle, being equipped with state-of-the-art, fully automated research instruments, provides unlimited opportunities to make measurements in the field of environmental contamination, traffic congestion, and meteorology.

The three days' fair also featured many trade meetings attended by industry professionals, which focused on such issues as the transfer of information within the utilization of electrical and electronic waste, management of other waste materials, as well as air pollution.
EKOTECH was organized under the auspices of the Chief Inspector of Environmental Protection, the Institute of Construction Mechanization and Rock Mining, the Polish Chamber of Recycling, the Institute of Environmental Protection, the Association of Waste Management Employers, the Polish Chamber of Waste Management, the President of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
EKOTECH was held simultaneously with the trade fairs ENEX, ENEX Nowa Energia and PNEUMATICON. In total, all the four fair events attracted 250 exhibitors from Poland and abroad.
